Our Latest Language Focus - 'Point of View'

Over the past few weeks our class has worked on answering 'inferring' or 'point of view' questions. The following format is what the students are following to draw on all of their background knowledge ('connections') and what their head and heart tell them. We are also including the 'PROOF' component that reflects evidence from the text or passage.

Listing your ideas with numbers and then referring to them throughout the answer is a neat way to show that the student is understanding the question.

(head and heart) 1. In my opinion I think that... 'because'
(proof) 2. I know this 'because'... in the book/text it shows or tells me/us
(connections) 3.This/it/ he/she/they remind(s) me of... 'because'
